Captured live at the Aula am Berliner Ring in Monheim am Rhein on Wednesday, 22 January 2025, Opera Out of Opera 2 (OOO2) presented a dynamic and engaging performance of Le Nozze di Figaro in collaboration with the Kyiv Symphony Orchestra. Tailored especially for the students of Otto-Hahn-Gymnasium, the event brought the world of opera directly to a young audience—many of whom were experiencing this art form for the very first time.
This edition of OOO2, part of the Creative Europe cooperation project, fostered a meaningful artistic dialogue between emerging talents from partner institutions and their Ukrainian counterparts. The Kyiv Symphony Orchestra, currently in residence through the Monheimer Kulturwerke programme, formed the musical backbone of the performance, creating a rich and inspiring environment for cross-cultural collaboration.
Le Nozze di Figaro (The Marriage of Figaro), composed by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart with a libretto by Lorenzo Da Ponte, remains one of the most enduring works in the operatic repertoire. Adapted from Beaumarchais’s revolutionary play, the opera is a brilliant social satire wrapped in comedy, exposing class dynamics, romantic entanglements, and the pursuit of justice—all within the span of a single day in Count Almaviva’s household.
With its whirlwind of mistaken identities, hidden agendas, and emotional revelations, the opera showcases Mozart’s genius for capturing the complexity of human relationships through music. From Figaro’s sharp wit to Susanna’s cleverness and the Countess’s quiet strength, every character is rendered with psychological depth and musical brilliance, making Le Nozze di Figaro as relevant today as it was at its 1786 premiere.
The production was directed by Adriana Hernández Flores, with a script by Mario Diaz and Patricio Cueto. Maestro Michelangelo Galeati led the Kyiv Symphony Orchestra, accompanying an international cast of singers from partner institutions:

Susanna: Sofia Nesje
